The Black Forest is located in the south west corner of Germany and offers mixed landscapes of wooded mountain sides, meandering rivers and river valleys, vineyards, and fabulous vistas. The Black Forest is one of the biggest and most  popular holiday destinations in Germany and is famous the world over for its, watch making, skiing, wine making and of course cuckoo clocks. The region has many interesting places to visit, including its many cities and spa towns such as Baden Baden and Freiburg and Offenburg the capital of the Ortenau wine region.

The famous Black Fores offers landscapes with wooded mountains and lush meadows. This is the land of houses with long sloping roofs and workshops specializing in cuckoo clocks and wood carving. Our tour is based at Koenigsfeld, at the very heart of this great touring region, set in a  beautiful park the romantic and charming 3 star Schwarzwald hotel surrounded by eight restored villas is an oasis of calm. All rooms have private facilities, television,  telephone and mini-bar. Hotel facilities include a large indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room, solarium, terrace café, lift and night porter.

Itinerary

Day 1: Outward journey via Eurotunnel and onto our overnight stay at the Hotel de Acacais, Neuville en Ferrain.
Day 2: Journey on to Koenigsfeld for a 5 night stay at the Schwarzwald Park Hotel.
Day 3: A day at leisure in resort. The hotel has great facilities and there are gentle walks through the surrounding woods to the village.
Day 4: A highlight tour to Switzerland and the Rhine Falls at Schaffhausen. Continue onto Constance on Lake Constance, with time to explore at leisure.
Day 5: A more local excursion to Triberg for the wood carving workshops and then to Titisee, a spa town on a lovely lake.
Day 6: A full day excursion to historic Freiburg to see the Gothic Cathedral, Schlosshof and castle ruins.
Day 7: Return through Germany to our overnight at the Hotel de Acacais Neuville en Ferrain.
Day 8: Homeward journey via Eurotunnel arriving early evening.
