The Historic market town of Barnstaple in North Devon is ideally situated within driving distance of Bristol, Plymouth and
Exeter. The town is reputed to be the oldest Royal Chartered Borough in the United Kingdom and as such is steeped in history with many historical attractions and buildings including its quayside. Barnstaple is also a popular shopping centre and the towns famous Pannier Market which operates six days a week.

Itinerary
Day 1: Leisurely outward journey to Barnstaple spending four nights at the Royal and Fortescue Hotel arriving late afternoon.
Day 2: Full day Bude. We head round Bideford Bay and into Cornwall for a visit to the pleasant seaside town of Bude with its colourful shopping streets and wide sands. We’ll return through the lovely rustic countryside of North Devon.
Day 3: Day of leisure in Barnstaple.
Day 4: Full day Exmoor National Park. An excursion offering contrasts. In the morning we’ll enjoy the rolling hills and sleepy villages of the Exmoor National Park “Lorna Doone Country”. After a stop in the seaside resort of Minehead we return along the coast, with spectacular sea views.
Day 5: Depart after breakfast for the homeward journey arriving late afternoon.
