The small port town of Bideford is ideally situated for exploring the magnificent coastline, spectacular sandy beaches and many unspoilt  fishing villages in and around Devon and Cornwall. Located on the estuary of the River Torridge in north Devon, the narrow town centre streets, with its appealing craft and gift shops, lead down to a tree lined quay, which bustles with fishing vessels, cargo and pleasure boats.

Itinerary

Day 1: Leisurely outward journey to Bideford spending four nights at the Durrant House Hotel arriving late afternoon.
Day 2: Day of leisure in Bideford.
Day 3: Full day Clovelly & Bude. We head south to the wonderful village of Clovelly with its steep cobbled streets and picturesque cottages. A road train runs from the car park to the harbour. We continue afterwards to the seaside town of Bude with its beautiful sands.
Day 4: Half day Barnstaple. North Devon’s main town offers good shopping and pleasant historic streets. Its indoor Pannier Market is one of Britain’s biggest.
Day 5: Depart after breakfast for the homeward journey arriving late afternoon.
