The thriving City of Hereford is situated on the banks of the beautiful River Wye, surrounded by unspoilt countryside and is a great place to explore and enjoy whatever the time of year. Attractive alleyways and ancient courtyards surround the famous cathedral which stands on the banks of the River Wye. Close by in the cathedral library, you’ll find two of Britain’s most important treasures, the Medieval Mappa Mundi and the Chained Library.

Itinerary
Day 1: Leisurely outward journey to Hereford spending four nights at the Green Dragon Hotel arriving late afternoon.
Day 2: Full day Monmouth & The Forest of Dean. We travel through glorious Herefordshire countryside to Monmouth, just over the Welsh border, where there is a unique 13th century bridge over the river Monnow. Continuing into the Forest of Dean we visit Lydney then enjoy the lovely forest scenery.
Day 3: Day of leisure in Hereford
Day 4: Full day Hay & Black & White Villages. These unspoilt villages of timber-framed cottages make Herefordshire special. Travel via Weobley, Eardisland and Pembridge with stops to stroll in the villages. On to Hay On Wye, the town of books, before returning to Hereford through the sleepy villages of the Golden Valley.
Day 5: Depart after breakfast for the homeward journey arriving late afternoon.
