Hythe And Historic Ypres
SOUTH COAST – 5 days
Hythe is one of the five original Cinque Ports on the “Garden Coast” in South Kent. Its wide promenade overlooks a long stretch of beach, offering views across the English Channel to France. From the sea front the town is situated on level ground and its main shopping area and history dates back many centuries.
Our tour for 2012 takes us to Ypres in Belgium and a passport is required for this excursion.

Itinerary
Day 1: Leisurely outward journey to Hythe spending four nights at the Mercure Hythe Imperial Hotel arriving late afternoon.
Day 2: Day of leisure in Hythe.
Day 3: Full day Ypres and WWI Battlefields. We take a trip through the Channel Tunnel and into Belgium to visit the atmospheric town of Ypres. This was the focal points of the Battle of Flanders in WWI and there are memories all around, particularly at Menin Gate (passport required).
Day 4: Full day Deal. We visit this pretty seaside town with its typical local architecture, picturesque seafront, popular beach and pier. En route we’ll stop in Folkestone for a stroll on The Leas.
Day 5: Depart after breakfast for the homeward journey arriving early evening.
