Itinerary

Day 1: Leisurely outward journey to North Yorkshire spending four nights at Nidd Hall arriving late afternoon.
Day 2: Full day Harrogate & Knaresborough. Two delightful towns, both with their own distinctive charm. Knaresborough offers ancient streets and cobbled alleys with Mother Shipton’s Cave claiming to be Britain’s oldest tourist attraction.  Fashionable Harrogate, with its lovely parks, is home to the Farrars Toffee Shop and famous Betty’s Tearoom.
Day 3: Full day Thirsk & Herriot Country. We travel through the wonderful scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park via Grassington to Askrigg, where many scenes of “All Creatures Great & Small” were filmed including “James Herriot’s surgery”. The real author’s surgery was in Thirsk and is now an excellent visitor attraction, close to the centre of this beautiful town.
Day 4: Day of leisure in Nidd Hall
Day 5: Depart after breakfast for the homeward journey arriving late afternoon.
