of unspoilt coastlines and beaches, awe inspiring cliff faces and the lunar like landscape of the Burren National Park. County Clare is also known for the friendliness and hospitability of its people, charming village pubs full of local atmosphere and filled with laughter and for the Ceilidh nights filled with music and dance. County Clare is an ideal base from which to explore this amazing county.

The 4* Armada Hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking the sea on Spanish Point. The hotel, once a tiny inn, has been developed and added to over the years and is now a hotel of superior quality, but retaining its friendly service. All rooms have private facilities, telephone, television and hairdryer. A lift serves all floors and the restaurant serves buffet style breakfast and waiter service evening meal with choice of menu.
Itinerary
Day 1: Travel through North Wales to Holyhead for an afternoon crossing to Dublin. Travel on to our overnight stop hotel in the Dublin area.
Day 2: Travel across Ireland with a journey featuring the best scenery and interesting stops en route to Spanish Point, County Clare spending 4 nights at the Armada Hotel. This evening will feature a welcome drink & “Welcome to Ireland” talk including a light-hearted introduction to the Gaelic language.
Day 3: Cross the Burren National Park, stopping first in Kilfenora, home to the Park’s Visitor Centre. Continue via Gort to the lovely City of Galway where time will be available for a wander. Return via Galway Bay with plenty of excellent views. This evening will feature light entertainment with a chance to have a go at a typical Irish activity e.g. playing the Bodrhan (drum) or dancing.
Day 4: A day spent in West Clare. Walkers can enjoy beautiful local rambles while from nearby Doolin ferries are available for the crossing to the Aran Islands, after which the famous sweaters are named. This evening will feature an Irish-themed quiz at the hotel with a small prize for the winning team.
Day 5: Visit the Cliffs of Moher, among the highest and most spectacular cliffs in Ireland – and now with a good Visitor Centre. Continue afterwards to Clare’s main town of Ennis, a delightful town of narrow streets and interesting shops. Tonight is Ceilidh night at the hotel with traditional Irish music and a chance for a bit of “craic”.
Day 6: Head back across Ireland via a scenic route to a final overnight stay in the Dublin area.
Day 7: Morning ferry crossing to Holyhead or Fishguard and travel homeward.
