Today Falkirk is a pleasant town centred on its pedestrianised high street and has numerous local attractions including the Antonine Wall, Falkirk Wheel and farmers markets.

Itinerary

Day 1: Leisurely outward journey to Falkirk spending four nights at the Airth Castle Hotel arriving late afternoon.
Day 2: Full day Edinburgh & the Firth of Forth. En route to Edinburgh we’ll pass Lithlingow Palace where Mary Queen of Scots was born. We’ll spend time in Scotland’s  beautiful capital as well as in Leith, where the Royal Yacht Britannia is moored, and Edinburgh’s beach area of Portobello.
Day 3: Day of leisure in Falkirk.
Day 4: Full day Stirling & Rob Roy Country. Pass Bannockburn Battlefield en route to ancient Stirling. It’s a great city full of interesting shops & streets, with a mighty castle overlooking the wide valley below. We then enjoy the scenery of the Trossachs National Park, “Rob Roy Country”, stopping in Aberfoyle.
Day 5: Depart after breakfast for the homeward journey arriving late afternoon.
