Our short breaks are centred in Aberfoyle, amidst magnificent scenery in the Heart of Scotland. The Edinburgh Military Tattoo is undoubtedly one of the world’s most famous and spectacular events. This colourful and exciting performance features breathtaking displays by marching bands in the dramatic setting of the floodlit Castle Esplanade. We will also visit the former Royal Yacht Britannia berthed alongside her visitor centre in Edinburgh’s historic port of Leith or The Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Scottish residence of Her Majesty The Queen.

Includes two excursions and FREE insurance

This tour includes 2 nights accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis at the Rob Roy Hotel with an evening meal on arrival. The following excursions are also included: Please note that on the second day, departure from the hotel will be after breakfast with a late return back to the hotel. On this day, your excursion to either Royal Yatch Britannia or Holyroodhouse will be incorporated with the evening performance of the Edinburgh Tattoo.  The afternoon will be free to visit Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh Military Tattoo Performance (Tickets included in North or Soputh Stand C, D or E):
After your visit to the Palace of Holyroodhouse the former Royal Yacht Britannia there is free time to spend in the capital before enjoying the Tattoo Performance. From its early days, the Edinburgh Tattoo has been an international favourite. It is an open air performance and warm and waterproof clothing is recommended. An evening meal is not included on this day.

Holyroodhouse (Monday Departures - Admission Included):
Founded as a monastery in 1128, the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh is the Queen’s official residence in Scotland. Situated at the end of the Royal Mile, the Palace of Holyroodhouse is closely associated with Scotland’s turbulent past, including Mary Queen of Scots, who lived here between 1561 and 1567. Successive kings and queens have made the Palace of Holyroodhouse the premier royal residence in Scotland. Today, the Palace is the setting for State ceremonies and official entertaining.

Britannia (Wednesday Departures - Admission Included): For over forty years, the Royal Yacht Britannia served the Royal Family. Launched on the 16th April 1953 at John Brown’s shipyard in Clydebank, the Royal Yacht Britannia continued an unbroken tradition of Royal Yachts stretching back 300 years to the reign of Charles II.
